Hey, beautiful people!
I’m so excited to share my journey with you as we dive deep into what it means to live authentically. I’m Révan Lowe-Watkins—love and joy connoisseur, certified wholehearted life coach, licensed social worker, and former multimedia journalist. My path has been anything but linear, but every twist and turn has brought me closer to my authentic self. Now, I want to help you do the same.
Who I Am and How I Got Here
Let me tell you a little about myself. I’ve lived many lives—traveled different roads, played countless roles—and I wouldn’t change a thing. All those experiences helped me discover who I am and taught me what it means to live in alignment with my heart.
I chose wholehearted life coaching because it resonated deeply with my values. It gave me the tools I needed to empower myself and my clients to live authentically. Becoming a certified coach wasn’t just a professional milestone—it was a personal transformation.
What Does Authenticity Mean to You?
Let’s get real—there are so many definitions of authenticity out there. For me, authenticity is sacred. It’s about being in a flow state, embracing who you are in this moment, and allowing space for change as you grow.
I want you to reflect on this for yourself. Take a moment to consider:
What does authenticity mean to me?
When do I feel most like myself?
How did my upbringing shape my understanding of authenticity?
Grab a pen and jot down your thoughts—or just sit quietly and reflect. Your authenticity is your compass, guiding you toward what truly feels right for you.
The Importance of Inner Trust
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: you have to trust yourself. Life is messy. Mistakes happen. But no matter what, you can always come back to you.
I build inner trust by cutting out the noise. That might mean stepping away from social media, meditating, journaling, or just taking a deep breath. Whatever helps me tune into my voice, I make space for it.
How do you build trust with yourself? Think about the small ways you show up for you, even when life feels overwhelming.
Facing Your Shadows
Let’s talk shadow work. It’s not always pretty, but it’s essential. Shadow work is about looking at the parts of ourselves we’ve buried—out of shame, fear, or rejection—and bringing them into the light.
I’ve had to get real with myself, break down walls of shame, and ask for help when I needed it. It’s a process, and it can be hard, but it’s also freeing. Remember, you don’t have to do it alone. Whether it’s a friend, therapist, or coach, find support that feels right for you.
Grief and Growth
One thing I wasn’t fully prepared for on this journey was grief. Tapping into my authenticity meant letting go of old versions of myself, outdated relationships, and things that no longer aligned. It was bittersweet—liberating but also heavy.
Allow yourself to grieve who you were while celebrating who you’re becoming. This is part of the process, and it’s worth it.
Knowing Your Values
Your values are your foundation. They’re like your inner GPS, helping you navigate life’s twists and turns. Take time to identify what matters most to you—what makes you feel alive, what you stand for, and what truly lights you up.
If you’re unsure where to start, try journaling or looking up exercises to help uncover your core values. This step is so important in aligning with your authentic self.
Get Curious About You
Here’s my favorite part: dating yourself! Get curious, ask yourself questions, and make the process fun. Life can be heavy sometimes, so why not create moments of joy? Laugh at yourself, try new things, and embrace the quirks that make you, you.
